Applications are invited for contractual Engagement of 35 Managers in Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC), in the following field for the period of five years further extendable in a spell of two years each and maximum period of total contractual engagement is extendable upto ten years based on the performance:

1) Manager (Technical/Traffic) 

Total Number of posts: 33

Essential Qualifications: First Class degree in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering with MBA of two years. In case of SC/ST candidates, atleast second class degree in the mentioned fields. 

2) Manager (Information Technology)

Total Number of posts: 02

Essential Qualifications: First Class BE/BTech in computer science/IT/MCA. In case of SC/ST Candidates, atleast second class degree in the mentioned fields.

Maximum Age limit as on 10th May 2011 : General : 35 years, OBC 38 years and sc/st : 40 years

Remuneration : Rs.30000/- per month, out of which 2/3rd remuneration shall be as fixed and remaining 1/3rd on their performance. The annual enhancement shall be upto 10% maximum depending upon the performance.

Note:

Contract Managers may have to work in shifts in depots as second officer. They will be provided vehicle for official work. In addition, they will be given Mobile phone by the corporation.

Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC)

Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) is the main public transport operator of Delhi. It operates buses on many bus routes, including the mudrika (the Ring Road Service) and Bahri Mudrika (the Outer Ring Road Service). It is the largest compressed natural gas-powered bus service operator in the world.
      

It was incorporated in May 1948 by the Indian government for local bus services when they found out the incumbent service provider Gawalior and Northern India Transport Company Ltd. was inadequate in serving the purpose. It was then named "Delhi Transport Service". It was again constituted as "Delhi Road Transport Authority" under the Road Transport Corporation Act, 1950. This Authority became undertaking of Municipal Corporation of Delhi by an Act of Parliament in April, 1958. In 1971, on a recommendation from the Indian government took over the assets and liabilities from the erstwhile Delhi Transport Undertaking (DTU) operated by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi until the 2nd November 1971. Delhi Transport Corporation which was under administrative control of the Indian government was transferred to the Government of National Capital Territory, Delhi.
