EMPLOYMENT NOTICE

Applications in the prescribed form are hereby invited from Indian Nationals for filling up the post of University Engineer at the North Eastern Hill University Shillong Campus. The post carries the Pay Band of Rs.37400-67000 with Grade Pay of Rs. 8700.

Essential Oualification (Direct recruitment)

Degree in Civil Engineering with eight years of experience as Superintending Engineer or 12 to 15 years experience as Executive Engineer in CPWD or State PWD or Public Sector Autonomous undertaking (PSU)/Autonomous Bodies/Equivalent position in Private Sectors.

(On Deputation basis)

Officers belonging to Central/State Government PWD services from analogous post on regular basis or those with 5 years regular service in the Pay Band of Rs.15600-39100 with Grade Pay of Rs.6600 or higher.

( On contract basis ): The qualifications shall be the same as that of direct recruitment.

HOW TO APPLY:

. The application form can be downloaded from the official website of the University (www.nehu.ac.in).

. The complete application in the prescribed form may be submitted to the Deputy Registrar Establishment - II, North Eastern Hill University, Mawkynroh, Umshing ,Shillong - 793022 along with the following documents:-

1. Attested copies of mark sheets /certificates in support of educational qualifications.

2. Attested copies of experience certificates.

3. Attested copy of Birth Certificate.

4. Attested copy of Caste/Tribe Certificate.

5. Application fee amounting to Rs.500/-( for General candidates) and Rs. 200/- (for SC/ST/OBC candidates) to be paid in the form of University ChallanlBanker's Cheque/Demand Draft drawn in favour of Finance Officer, NEHU, Shillong and payable at the SBI,NEHU Branch code No.4295.

6. Physically Challenged candidates are exempted from payment of application fee. However, they are required to submit the necessary certificate in support of their disability.

Other Terms and Conditions:

(i) Incomplete application will summarily be rejected.

(ii) Candidates already in service should send their application through Proper Channel. Advance copy, however, can be sent directly.

(iii) If the application is not received through Proper Channel, in such cases, the candidate(s) called for interview shall have to produce 'NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE' from the Employer, failing which they will not be allowed to appear for interview.

(iv) Mere fulfilling minimum qualification does not entitle a candidate to be called for interview.

(v) The University reserves the right to reject any application without assigning any reasons thereof.

(vi) The University reserves the right to fill or not to fill up the post.

(vii) Fees once paid is not refundable.

(viii) Application received after the last date of receipt of application shall not be entertained and no correspondence in this regard will be made. 

Last date of receipt of application for is 20th May. 2011.

The objectives of the University shall be to disseminate and advance knowledge by providing instructional and research facilities in such branches of learning as it may deem fit; to pay special attention to the improvement of the social and economic conditions and welfare of the people of the hill areas of the North-Eastern region, and, in particular, their intellectual, academic and cultural advancement.

North-Eastern Hill University was set up by an Act of Parliament and notified on 19th July 1973.
