The college was inaugurated on 7 February 1916 by Viceroy Charles Hardinge earlier in 1914. The foundation stone of the college was laid by his wife Lady Hardinge. It was founded in 1914 to commemorate the visit of Her Majesty Queen Mary in 1911-12. Lady Hardinge, the wife of the then viceroy was the first to take initiative for starting a medical college for women, as the lack of separate medical college for women made it impossible for Indian women to study medicine.

Sr. Resident :  115 posts (UR-55, SC-18,ST-6,OBC-36) in various departments, Pay Scale : Rs. 15600 - 39100 grade pay Rs.6600/- , Qualification : MBBS/BDS with PG Degee or Diploma in the concerned speciality.

Walk-In-Interview : Walk-in-Interview in the office of the Director will be held from 15/07/2011 to 18/08/2011 for different departments for which the registration will be done between 9.30 am to 10.30 am.
